These Terms and Conditions apply to bookings and experiences operated by Belfast Tea Bus, part of Diamond Leisure Transport Ltd, a Belfast-based tourism and transport company.
By booking or participating in a Belfast Tea Bus experience, guests agree to the following terms, subject to their statutory consumer rights.
1. Bookings & Tickets
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. Tickets are valid only for the date, departure time and experience selected at the time of booking.
Guests should check their booking confirmation carefully and contact us promptly if any details are incorrect.
Electronic tickets are accepted, and guests may be asked to present their booking confirmation before boarding.
Tickets cannot be transferred to another date or departure without prior agreement from Belfast Tea Bus.
2. Departure Times & Late Arrivals
Our Belfast Tea Bus operates from the public bus stop on High Street, Belfast City Centre, beside the entrance to Pottinger's Entry.
Guests must arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled departure to allow sufficient time for check-in and boarding.
Tours operate to a scheduled timetable and cannot be delayed for late-arriving passengers.
Guests who arrive after departure or fail to attend may lose their booking without a refund, subject to applicable consumer law.
Passengers are responsible for allowing adequate time for parking, traffic, connecting transport and other travel arrangements.
3. Food Allergies & Dietary Requirements
The Belfast Tea Bus experience includes food and refreshments, and we take food allergies and dietary requirements seriously.
Guests must inform our team of any food allergies, intolerances or specific dietary requirements when making their booking, or as soon as possible before their visit.
Our food selections may contain ingredients including milk, eggs, wheat and other cereals containing gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, soya, sesame, mustard and other regulated allergens.
Full information about the 14 legally recognised allergens used as ingredients in our food is available upon request.
Food may be prepared, packaged or handled in environments where allergens are present. Although we follow applicable food safety requirements and take appropriate precautions to manage allergen risks, we cannot guarantee that every food item will be suitable for every allergy or intolerance.
Where a specific risk of allergen cross-contact has been identified, we will communicate the relevant information to affected guests.
Guests with severe allergies, including those at risk of anaphylaxis, should contact us before booking so we can discuss their requirements, provide the available allergen information and establish whether suitable catering arrangements can be provided.
Vegetarian and selected alternative dietary options may be available with advance notice, subject to confirmation by our team. Special dietary requests should not be regarded as confirmed until agreed by Belfast Tea Bus.
Guests should not consume any food where they are uncertain about its suitability for their dietary requirements and should speak to a member of staff before eating.
Nothing in these terms excludes our obligations under applicable food safety legislation or our liability where the law does not permit such exclusion.
4. Afternoon Tea Menu & Food Service
Our afternoon tea menu is subject to seasonal availability, supplier deliveries and operational requirements.
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to individual food items, flavours, ingredients and presentation, provided the overall experience remains substantially as described.
Substitute items will be selected with consideration for relevant dietary requirements and any allergies disclosed to our team.
Menu photographs and promotional images are illustrative and may not represent the exact food selection served on a particular departure.
Guests wishing to bring additional food, birthday cakes or refreshments onboard should obtain approval in advance.
Alcoholic beverages are not included in standard tickets and must not be brought onboard or consumed without prior authorisation.
5. Passenger Safety & Conduct
Belfast Tea Bus operates a moving double-decker vehicle, and passenger safety is our priority.
All guests must follow the reasonable safety instructions of the driver and onboard team.
Passengers must remain seated while the bus is moving unless instructed otherwise by a member of staff.
Particular care should be taken when handling hot drinks, food, crockery and personal belongings during the journey.
Guests must not obstruct aisles, stairways, entrances, emergency exits or access to safety equipment.
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited onboard.
We reserve the right to refuse boarding or require a passenger to leave the service where their behaviour presents a genuine safety risk, involves threatening or abusive conduct, or seriously disrupts other guests.
Any such action will be taken reasonably and in accordance with applicable law.
6. Children & Family Bookings
Children are welcome onboard Belfast Tea Bus but must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult throughout the experience.
Children under five may travel free of charge in accordance with the ticket conditions, but a separate afternoon tea serving is not automatically included unless expressly confirmed.
All children must be included in the booking to ensure passenger numbers and suitable seating arrangements can be managed safely.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children, particularly around hot drinks, tables, stairways and during boarding and disembarkation.
7. Seating & VIP Reservations
Our Belfast Tea Bus offers seating across its upper and lower decks, including a limited number of VIP high seats at the front of the upper deck.
Where seat selection is available, we will make reasonable efforts to honour the seats selected during booking.
Occasionally, seating arrangements may need to be adjusted for safety, accessibility or operational reasons.
Where a separately paid VIP seating option cannot be provided, guests will be offered a suitable alternative and an appropriate refund or other remedy where required.
Guests with particular seating or mobility requirements are encouraged to contact us before booking.
8. Wheelchair Accessibility & Assistance
Belfast Tea Bus is equipped with an easy-access wheelchair boarding ramp and one dedicated wheelchair-accessible position on the lower deck.
As wheelchair capacity is limited, guests requiring the designated position are encouraged to contact our team before booking to confirm availability and discuss any assistance they may require.
Access to the upper deck requires use of the onboard staircase.
Recognised assistance dogs are welcome onboard, and our team will make reasonable arrangements to accommodate guests with disabilities in accordance with applicable legislation.
We are committed to providing an accessible and welcoming experience and will consider reasonable adjustments wherever required.
9. Tour Route, Duration & Operational Changes
Our Belfast Tea Bus experience typically lasts approximately 75–90 minutes and includes sightseeing through Belfast City Centre and surrounding districts.
Routes, landmarks, timings and scheduled comfort stops may occasionally be affected by traffic congestion, roadworks, road closures, weather, public events, safety requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We reserve the right to make reasonable operational adjustments, including alternative routes or suitable replacement vehicles, where necessary.
Individual landmarks and uninterrupted views cannot always be guaranteed.
Where a material change prevents us from delivering the experience substantially as booked, we will offer an appropriate alternative, refund or other remedy in accordance with applicable law.
10. Toilet Facilities & Comfort Stops
There are no onboard toilet facilities.
Our tours include designated comfort stops where toilet facilities may be accessed without additional charge.
The timing and location of stops may occasionally change due to traffic, availability or operational conditions.
Guests with particular medical or accessibility requirements should contact us before booking so we can discuss suitable arrangements.
11. Cancellation, Refunds & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change and aim to make our cancellation arrangements clear.
Customer Cancellations
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure are eligible for a refund, subject to a 20% administration charge, where that charge is fair and lawful.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure and failure to attend are ordinarily non-refundable, reflecting the advance preparation, limited seating capacity and costs associated with each departure. Any cancellation charge remains subject to applicable consumer law.
Changing Your Booking
Guests may request a change of date or departure time without an administration charge when at least 24 hours' notice is provided, subject to availability.
Cruise Ship Cancellations
Guests whose cruise ship is unable to dock in Belfast as scheduled are eligible for a full refund. We may request confirmation of the cancelled port call.
Operator Cancellations
If Belfast Tea Bus cancels a scheduled departure and cannot provide an agreed alternative, guests will be entitled to a refund for the cancelled experience.
Any refund will be arranged through the original booking or payment channel where reasonably possible.
These conditions do not affect any statutory rights or remedies available to customers.
12. Weather & Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Belfast Tea Bus operates in normal wet-weather conditions, with passengers travelling inside an enclosed double-decker vehicle.
Exceptionally severe weather, unsafe driving conditions, emergency incidents, road closures or other events beyond our reasonable control may require a departure to be delayed, amended or cancelled.
Where we are unable to provide the booked service, customers will be offered an alternative date or an appropriate refund.
We are not responsible for unrelated travel or accommodation expenses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Personal Belongings & Luggage
Passengers are responsible for keeping their personal belongings secure throughout the journey.
Due to limited onboard storage, large suitcases, bulky luggage and unfolded pushchairs may not be accommodated.
Guests should check with our team before travelling with larger items.
Belfast Tea Bus is not responsible for loss or damage that is not caused by a failure on our part to exercise reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Photography & Filming
Guests are welcome to take photographs and short personal videos during their experience, provided this does not interfere with the safety, comfort or privacy of other passengers.
Commercial photography, professional filming or organised promotional activities require prior permission from Belfast Tea Bus.
Where Belfast Tea Bus wishes to use identifiable photographs or video footage of guests for promotional purposes, we will obtain any consent required by applicable data protection and privacy law.
15. Private Hire & Group Bookings
Private hire, corporate events, weddings, hen parties and larger group bookings may be subject to separate booking agreements.
Customised menus, tour routes, durations, additional services and cancellation arrangements will be confirmed in writing before the booking is finalised.
Any separately agreed private hire terms will apply alongside these general conditions where relevant.
16. Liability & Consumer Rights
Belfast Tea Bus is committed to providing its services with reasonable care and skill.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising solely from events beyond our reasonable control or from circumstances for which we are not legally responsible.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, breaches of statutory obligations that cannot be excluded, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of consumers.
